Grown-ups don’t look like grown-ups on the inside either. Outside, they’re big and thoughtless and they always know what they’re doing. Inside, they look just like they always have. Like they did when they were your age. Truth is, there aren’t any grown-ups. Not one, in the whole wide world.

Basic plot summary (amazon)
A man returns to the site of his childhood home where, years before, he knew a girl named Lettie Hempstock who showed him the most marvellous, dangerous, and outrageous things, but when he gets there he learns that nothing is as he remembered.
My praise and critique
The book is like a poem, written in memory of someone whom you have deeply loved. It is sometimes scary, wild, impossible, kind and gentle at the same time.
A definite “yes”!
